The Stonnington Media room was born from a dream to convert an minimally utilised living space into a central gathering place, to host friends, family and to enjoy and immerse into the occasional movie.  

The architecturally designed home yielded many challenges, primary the difficulty in retrofitting significant elements of AV infrastructure to a pre-existing structure.  Through careful planning, multiple site assessments and thoughtful design, it was determined that a 3.6m wide, 2.025m tall native UHD LED screen would be best served within the space.  A screen of this magnitude suited the large scale of the room, with direct view LED technology allowing the abundant natural light to be enjoyed whilst still providing clear, vibrant and reflection free viewing.

A 0.93 COB Flip Chip LED screen by Immersive Technology, driven by the latest Novastar COEX processing allows this screen to run true 10bit HDR providing in excess of 1500nits of peak brightness delivering perfect blacks delivering a viewing experience that is impressive not only due to sheer scale but also colour vibrancy, accuracy and response.

To compliment a viewing experience of this calibre, a seamless and unobtrusive Dolby Atmos capable audio system was designed and retrofitted within the existing wall and ceiling cavities.  The main left and right speakers are L'Acoustics Soka In Wall, driven by an L'Acoustics LA2Xi amplifier.  The centre channel comprises a hidden L'Acoustics X8i incorporated into the below screen joinery with a hidden L'Acoustics Syva Sub driving the bottom end.  

Whilst this highly proficient and capable system utilises a range of complex technologies, the entire experience is driven through a standard Apple TV 4K for volume control and system start up and shut down, providing a seamless and simple end user experience.  This has been one of our favourite projects to deliver and the quality of the equipment supplied is only surpassed by the quality of the final experience.
